Episode by episode

A set of house keys changes hands on the morning the father leaves on a work trip. Before going, he tells his son, a grown man in his twenties who lives at home, that his wife Ava is in charge and that whatever she says goes. Ava is his father's new wife, and she takes to the role quickly. She wants obedience and attention. He wants to keep his distance and make it to his father's return.

    Episode 1: Rules one and two

    The father makes his son repeat the new rule aloud. Ava announces rule one, his phone stays in the kitchen, and rule two, he knocks before entering her room. The third she saves for later. She orders him to hold her legs while she stretches, as his father does. Later he watches through her door, and she sees him.

    Episode 2: Rule three

    Ava walks into his room without knocking and points out that no rule binds her to knock. He reminds her whose wife she is. She reminds him he watched her through the door for a full minute and says she liked it. Then she reveals the third rule: this time he watches, and he is not to look away.
