A knock on the front door brings Sonia, who came to see the room listed for rent. The owner needs the rent to keep up the mortgage, and he has already promised the space to a woman who showed up early that morning and argued her case in person. That first tenant is now in his shower asking for a towel. Sonia wants the room anyway and believes she can argue better. His girlfriend, meanwhile, is on the phone.

    Episode 1: Two offers for one room

    Told the listing is already taken, Sonia stays put and asks to be heard. The first tenant calls out for a towel, and Sonia reads her immediately. The girlfriend phones from the car, off early, and decides to come over in twenty minutes once she hears two women are there. Sonia then names her price for the room before that car arrives.

    Both women stay, and the competition for one room keeps going while the girlfriend gets nearer. Each tenant is willing to go further than the other to win the lease, and the homeowner has to decide who gets the key before someone walks in on the negotiation.
