Episode by episode

Fifty pushups barked across a dusty yard set the terms at boot camp, five days into training. The trainer, Harlow, expects every gaze on her while she talks and a reply to each question. One recruit, thin and already shaking, cannot finish the count, and another recruit tries to help him and is told off. Harlow wants to break him down and rebuild him her own way. He wants to survive the course without looking at her the way he does. A third recruit wants something she has not said yet.

Episode 1: Forty-nine pushups
Harlow introduces herself to the platoon and lays out her standard. She notices one recruit staring and tells him exactly what she will do to him if he keeps it up. He fails at forty-nine of fifty pushups, and she forbids anyone to help. She orders him to the training ground at 1800 that evening and promises a long night.

Episode 2: Stamina in the changing room
The evening session starts with stretching and turns into a test, with Harlow demonstrating the drills herself. A woman from the unit watches from cover and argues with herself about stepping in. Harlow accuses the recruit of staring through the whole session and takes him to the changing rooms, where his stamina training continues on her terms.
