Episode by episode

A marriage bed in the royal palace has a new occupant when Theron rides home: his father, King Evian, has wed a woman named Lysandra and wants his son to greet her as queen. Theron already knows her face. For weeks she has come to him in sleep, and the dreams felt real enough to touch. An old oracle at court warns that the king has taken a snake into his marriage and that his house will fall, and Evian has her dragged out. Lysandra wants to know whether the man from her own visions exists.

    Episode 1: A face from the dreams

    Evian presents his new wife to the court, and Theron recognizes her as the woman from his nights. The oracle's warning about a serpent in the royal bed is dismissed and she is taken away by guards. Alone, Theron and Lysandra admit the dreams were shared, and she tells him the gods want him to take her.

    Episode 2: Half a prophecy

    Lysandra leads Theron to a chamber kept for Aphrodite and explains that the goddess visited her too. The oracle told the king only half of it: his son will take the royal bed and then the crown. She confesses she married Evian to reach Theron. The doors close behind them, and the pair read it as the will of the gods.
