Car keys left in the lounge are the whole prize on a night when both stepsiblings have plans. She has a party and has promised a friend a ride at nine. He says it is his turn with the car. Their parents are going to a show and refuse to settle it, reminding them they are adults. He stayed on with his stepmom after his own father died, and she later married the stepsister's father, a history the two still argue over. Each wants the car, and she is ready to trade for it.
