Episode by episode

A bathroom door opened without a knock gives Theo his first proper look at his girlfriend's stepmother, and her reply is sharp. He has driven through heavy snow to meet the family at her father's large house, which he hears reflects the stepmother's taste. The trains are down, and nobody can leave until Tuesday. His girlfriend shows him the neighbor Gavin's yard and the old trampoline. Over wine, the stepmother keeps catching him staring, and she seems pleased.
