A clock on the wall starts to matter after the last light upstairs goes off. Sophia, a woman in her twenties hired by Mr. Owen's wife, has permission from the wife to take whatever she likes in the house. She is good at her job and finishes the evening's duties fast. The wife is out until midnight. Sophia has a boyfriend she keeps on hold. Mr. Owen wants to remember that he is married. Sophia bills by the hour and wants to make each one count.

Episode 1: Help yourself
Sophia passes on the wife's instruction to help herself to anything, and she finishes her duties in twenty minutes. Her boyfriend calls, and she cuts him off. She asks when the wife returns and hears midnight. Reminding Mr. Owen that she earns by the hour, she asks him to put her to work.

Episode 2: Until morning
Mr. Owen points out that he is married, and Sophia says she has a boyfriend and finds that part fun. His wife calls to say she will spend the night at Jen's and asks him to keep Sophia on for the whole night. Sophia observes that the wife is staying out and her shift now runs until morning.
