A polished studio floor waits for a couple who signed up for tango to repair a marriage under strain. The wife arranged the lessons, but work keeps her away, and she messages her husband to go without her. The instructor, a woman who says tango lives in the hips, offers to partner him instead. He has two left feet and good intentions. She wants a partner who follows her lead, on the floor and off it.

He learns the turn, holds on as told and never treads on her feet. The instructor tells him his wife is not coming and offers him a private routine.

    The private routine begins with a leg wrap she asks him to hold higher. When his wife finally attends, she is struck by how he moves; the instructor says he has moved like that with her.
