Richard and his partner Holly are hosting his daughter and her new boyfriend, Ethan, for a full week by the pool. Richard wants everyone to stop working and have fun. Ethan hopes Richard will approve of him. Holly is used to being watched and treats it as praise. The daughter wants only a pleasant week with her family.

    Episode 1: Caught looking

    The daughter introduces Ethan to Richard and Holly, and Richard announces a week of rest. Ethan cannot keep his eyes off Holly and apologizes when he is noticed. Richard waves it off, says Holly has drawn those looks for a long time, and treats it as proof of his luck. Then he asks Ethan a blunt question about wanting her.

    Holly hesitates over a game the couple once played, and Richard talks her into it. Ethan checks with his girlfriend about spending time with her father; she is glad they get along.
