A shower interrupted ten minutes after arrival is how Jake learns what his girlfriend's family house is like. He has just moved in with Chloe, and the household runs on one rule repeated by everyone: nothing is hidden. The person who repeats it most is Dana, Chloe's stepmother, who calls him sweetheart and has no interest in knocking. Jake wants to settle in and look respectable. Chloe wants him relaxed. Dana wants to see how long his composure lasts.

    Episode 1: Ten minutes in the house

    Jake arrives and meets Dana, who introduces herself as Chloe's stepmother and repeats the rule of the house. He stammers through a polite hello. Within minutes she has seen him in the shower and reports it to Chloe with obvious approval. Jake asks Chloe why nobody warned him. Chloe answers by pulling him closer instead of explaining.

    Chloe asks Jake not to panic and explains a family custom that involves her, her boyfriends and Dana. Dana lays down a first rule about who touches whom, then a second that cancels it.
