Ethan has been texting his friends about Mia's mother, Jessie, calling her the most attractive woman he has met. Mia is taking a shower and expects him to stay put. Jessie finds the phone and starts reading. She is lonely since her husband started traveling. Ethan wants to disappear into the floor. Jessie wants him to stand by every word.

She reads one aloud that promises he would do anything she says. Mia calls for a towel, and Jessie tells Ethan that once her daughter leaves for the lake, he is hers.
