A hot tub warming in the backyard is the first thing Veronica mentions after the welcome hug. Her stepson, a man in his twenties, has come home for a week, and his father is traveling for his job. He has a girlfriend he plans to stay faithful to. Veronica has rules ready and recites them one at a time. She wants his obedience. He wants to get through the week without betraying anyone.

    Episode 1: The first two rules

    Veronica welcomes her stepson and explains that his father is away, so they are alone. Rule one: he follows every command. His girlfriend calls to say she will visit tomorrow. Veronica notices his stress and adds rule two, no calls to the girlfriend today. When he protests that she is his stepmother, she tells him to be in the shower in ten minutes.

    Episode 2: Rule number four

    He arrives late, and Veronica says she has already finished but could start again. He refuses, citing his girlfriend and his father. That night he hears her through the wall. In the morning she appears in a robe and lays down rule four, no pretending he did not hear. His girlfriend arrives, and Veronica wants him while she waits outside.
