Episode by episode

A war table covered in maps sits between Caesar and his officers as reports come in that Egyptian forces are pushing forward. Caesar calls Cleopatra his most dangerous enemy and refuses to give up more ground. He is married and bound to Rome. Cleopatra is a queen with an army of her own, and she means to win him as well as the war. Caesar wants to stay strong for Rome. Cleopatra wants him to stop pretending he is unmoved.

    Episode 1: The queen in the tent

    Caesar vows to hold the line against Cleopatra. She then appears before him and presents herself as the prize his enemy is offering. He reminds her he has a wife and orders her to stop. A soldier bursts in: the eastern camp has fallen and her forces are nearing the river. Caesar orders her out.

    Episode 2: News before dawn

    That night Caesar accuses Cleopatra of attacking his men, and she says his eyes contradict his anger. He calls it an error and warns her of the danger; she invites him to burn. When he moves to end it, she stops him with news: she is pregnant with his heir and learned it that morning.
