Episode by episode

An eviction notice taped to his door gives Jake until Friday to leave. He has no job and no savings, and he owes three months of rent. Vanessa, the landlady, comes to talk about payment and makes clear money is not what she has in mind. She can call the agency and have him out at the end of the week. Her daughter Mia lives nearby and notices more than her mother does. Jake wants to stay housed. Both women want something from him.

    Vanessa offers Jake an arrangement instead of eviction, and one month of debt disappears. He tells himself it is just business, and she books him for the same time the following week. Then Mia introduces herself, works out how he is paying, and promises to keep quiet if he makes the same deal with her.
